Loved it

That's up there with driver numbers for me

A full-titanium 3-wood that delivers driver-like distance with a high-launch, low-spin knuckle-ball flight and remarkable consistency.

+ the facts · 5 pros · 2 cons
  • +Driver-level ball speed and carry off the tee
  • +High-launching yet low-spin, tight dispersion
  • +Very consistent numbers even on off-centre strikes
  • Expensive at $399 / roughly £400
  • Better as a mini-driver replacement than a true 3-wood off the deck

For: Players wanting a driver-replacement / mini-driver-type high-launch, low-spin 3-wood

Lukewarm

Sorry, Callaway, but I'm not quite feeling that sound.

The new titanium head is meant to blend Max forgiveness with Triple Diamond control and looks great at address, but Michael repeatedly says the sound is loose and hollow and he simply does not like it.

+ the facts · 6 pros · 4 cons
  • +Sits incredibly square and looks great behind the ball
  • +Full titanium head at 170cc, 10cc bigger than the others
  • +Two flippable 13g and 3g rear weights for heel or toe bias
  • Sound is the dealbreaker: feels like something loose in the head, not solid off the face
  • Michael much prefers the feel and sound of the other two
  • Most expensive at 399 versus 319 and 329

For: Players wanting Max forgiveness with Triple Diamond control, if they can live with the sound
