2nd Swing Golf

Master fitters, Trackman-heavy testing

Loved it

for Second Swing, the winner is the LAB DF3

Voted the best putter in fittings by 2nd Swing's fitters for 2026: extremely stable, extremely forgiving lie-angle-balanced mallet with huge customization options.

+ the facts · 6 pros · 2 cons
  • +Winner of 2nd Swing's Fitters' Choice putter survey for 2026
  • +Extremely stable and forgiving; consistent roll on off-center strikes
  • +Lie angle balance keeps the face square to the stroke path
  • Standard aluminum face feels very soft ('gooey') with little response, which drove demand for the insert version
  • Zero-torque concept and look are still out there for some golfers

For: Basically everyone should try it, especially golfers wanting maximum stability and forgiveness in a putter

Michael Newton Golf

On-course, season-long club tests

Loved it

DF3 is more forgiving. It's higher MOI. It's more stable.

The bigger DF3 head was the clear direction of the fitting: more forgiving, more stable, and the alignment options framed the ball better than anything else tried.

+ the facts · 4 pros · 1 cons
  • +Bigger head with CG further back gives higher MOI and more stability
  • +Roughly 40 alignment options, and the framing markings helped him aim and center the ball
  • +Zero torque face stays square to the path so he stops manipulating it
  • Fitter noted no stock spec is right off the shelf, it needs building to your numbers

For: Golfers with poor aim and low putting confidence who want maximum forgiveness and alignment help.

Today's Golfer

UK magazine, robot + human testing

Loved it

In my eyes the best lab golf putter to date, the DF3.

Called the best L.A.B. putter to date, an incredibly stable true lie-angle-balanced putter that is very hard to fault.

+ the facts · 4 pros · 1 cons
  • +Exceptional stability and gimme-getter
  • +True lie-angle-balanced with loads of tech
  • +Suits players moving from larger mallets
  • Still quirky looks that won't suit every eye

For: Almost anyone, especially players coming from a large mallet like a Spider.
