2nd Swing Golf

Master fitters, Trackman-heavy testing

Loved it

I think they knocked these out of the park.

A dramatically slimmed-down, better-sounding utility iron that kept its high-launch, steep-landing performance, about 18 feet more height and 5 mph more ball speed than the T250U in testing.

+ the facts · 6 pros · 2 cons
  • +Much cleaner, slimmer shape than the previous generation, which looked almost like a hybrid
  • +Biggest complaint of the old model, the sound, has been cleaned up and it feels great
  • +Launched about 18 feet higher with a 4-degree steeper landing angle than the T250U
  • Still needs a good amount of clubhead speed; fitter would rarely fit it below a stiff flex
  • Can launch almost too high for very fast swingers chasing a 100-foot window

For: Moderate to high speed players who hate hybrids but still want lots of peak height and landing angle from a long iron

On-course, season-long club tests

Loved it

Oh, and that is an absolute dream. I love that.

The bulkier, easier of the two utilities and the one he'd pick, hugely forgiving off the tee and off the deck with real flight versatility.

+ the facts · 7 pros · 2 cons
  • +Bigger, confidence-inspiring profile with a beefy sole
  • +L-shaped forged cup face keeps ball speed on low strikes
  • +V-taper design holds speed across the face
  • Thick top line with the back edge visible
  • Louder, clickier than the T250U

For: Golfers who want hybrid forgiveness in an iron shape, or a fairway finder off the tee.

Coach, famously hard to impress

Liked it

that just feels very easy to hit

The chunkier advanced driving iron feels very easy to hit and launches with help from the turf, better matched to 250-350 style sets than its player-only image suggests.

+ the facts · 3 pros · 1 cons
  • +Feels very easy to hit, genuinely helpful from the ground
  • +Outdrove the T250U in the scramble test
  • +Blends with T250 and T350 style sets
  • Chunky look won't appeal to players expecting a slim utility

For: Golfers who want utility-iron distance with help, not just the low-handicap crowd

No visual gimmberries. It's great.

The bigger, truer utility of the two Titleist driving irons. One host was fit into the two iron and confirms the address view is clean with no visible cavity structure.

+ the facts · 3 pros · 1 cons
  • +Clean address look with the progressive shaping
  • +The more forgiving of the two utilities
  • +Graphite Design VF85X available at $379
  • Premium shaft option adds $100 over stock

For: Golfers wanting a utility that plays like the T350 of the driving iron space

Mixed

Referenced as the wide-soled utility iron for a player who should be in a hybrid but prefers an iron look, and as part of the ball speed progression.

+ the facts · 2 pros
  • +Really wide sole for an iron
  • +Hollow construction for ball speed

For: Golfers who would suit a hybrid but want to look down at an iron.
