Loved it

I think this is probably one of the longest golf clubs I've ever hit

Possibly the longest iron he's ever hit, with freakishly tight spin and ball-speed consistency and incredible pricing; the only thing stopping perfection is the divisive punk-rock looks and the protruding 'outy' back design.

+ the facts · 5 pros · 3 cons
  • +Enormous distance: 212-yard 7-iron with around 140 mph ball speed
  • +Spin variation of roughly 150 rpm and about 2.8 mph ball speed variation across strikes hit all over the face
  • +Outstanding sound and feel thanks to the multi-material carbon fibre and TPU insert
  • Divisive looks: black punk-rock cosmetics and a protruding 'outy' back rather than a cavity
  • Very strong lofts (27.5 degree 7-iron)
  • Low spin, so not for players chasing rpm into greens

For: Golfers who want maximum distance and forgiveness for the money and can live with unconventional looks

Peter Finch Golf

Long-term on-course testing

Loved it

might just be the most budget friendly and the best overall

The surprise package of Finch's forgiving-driver roundup: a cheap, tour-validated 10K driver whose data was comparable to his beloved Ping G430 Max 10K, which he says is really saying something.

+ the facts · 4 pros · 1 cons
  • +Data compared head-to-head with the Ping G430 Max 10K, one of his favorite ever drivers, and genuinely surprised him
  • +Cheaper than almost everything else in the test while hitting the 10K MOI mark
  • +Felt strong and powerful; sliding movable back weight, carbon components, and a speed-pocket-style power channel
  • The offset made direction harder to control for him, with a few balls leaking left

For: Budget-conscious golfers wanting 10K forgiveness, especially those who'd welcome a touch of draw bias

Liked it

The highest-spinning driver tested, incredibly easy to launch and very stable, with a lively feel and strong value at 0.7 yards per dollar.

+ the facts · 3 pros
  • +Easiest to launch with the most spin and 10K MOI stability
  • +Lively feel that shines through in the acoustic
  • +Second-best value for money in the test

For: Slower-speed players who need help launching and stabilising the ball
